  • The Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind filed petition in Supreme
    Court against the Ayodhya verdict issued by Allahabad
    High Court regarding the division of 2.77 acres of land between
    petitioners.


  • The United National Educational Scientific and Cultural
    Organisation
    included three Indian art forms in its
    heritage list.
    The three kinds of arts are the Mudiyettu of
    Kerala, the Chhau dance from Eastern India and the Kalbelia folk songs
    and dances of Rajasthan.


  • The Comptroller and Auditor General of India's 150 years celebrated
    in New Delhi. President, Pratibha Patil released the commemorative
    stamp on the eve of 150 years of CAG.

    of Innovations was held in New Delhi. Former President, A.P.J. Abdul
    Kalam and ASSOCHAM President, Swati Piramal addressed on the issues of
    food security, energy and water.

  • Ashok Chavan's resignation was accepted as Chief Minister of
    Maharashtra and Suresh Kalmadi was removed as Secretarty of
    Congress Parliamentary Party by Congress high command due to the
    corruption allegations on Adarsh Housing Society and Commonwealth Games
    respectively.


  • The Union Cabinet approved the Protection of Women against Sexual
    Harassment at Workplace Bill 2010.
    This bill ensures safe working
    environment for women at public, private, organised and unorganised
    sectors 


  • Supreme Court said that dowry killings are to be treated as
    the 'rarest of rare' ones and extreme punishment of death should
    be awarded. The judgment was awarded in the case of Geeta & Satya
    Narayan Tiwari's case. 


  • Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati launches people's welfare
    programme called "Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Mahamaya Garib Arthik
    Madad Yojna"
    to disburse Rs.300 per month to the eligible poor in
    the State
