Carlos Slim remains world's richest person: Forbes

Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim remained the richest person in the world with $74 billion. 

NRI steel magnate Lakshami Mittal ranked sixth and Indian industrialist Mukesh Ambani is placed ninth in the U.S. magazine Forbes annual list of world's top billionaires.

Telecom tycoon Helu, whose worth increased by $20.4 billion from last year's $53.5 billion, is followed by Microsoft founder and now a full time philanthropist William Gates III (popularly known as Bill Gates) with a net worth of $56 billion.

IAOP ‘Global Outsourcing 100' list

Legal services outsourcing company CPA Global has found a place in the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals' (IAOP) ‘Global Outsourcing 100' list. 

With offices across Europe, the US, Asia and the Pacific, CPA Global has been included in this prestigious list consecutively for the past three years.


e-post office launched

Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal launched ‘e-post office,' the e-commerce portal of India Post that will provide various postal services online. 

The portal will enable customers to transact postal business anytime and from anywhere through Internet and by using either debit card or credit card.


Jayshree Venkatraman to head AMCO

The board of directors of AMCO Batteries (AMCO) has elected Jayshree Venkatraman as Chairman of AMCO. 

AMCO is the first company in India to manufacture train lighting batteries, telephone and telegraphic cells, stationary batteries for power houses, traction batteries and batteries for Defence.


Chameli Devi award for 2010

Shahina K.K., the Thiruvananthapuram correspondent of Open magazine, has been selected for the Chameli Devi Jain Award-2010 for outstanding woman media person.


MSD launches rotavirus vaccine

Multinational pharmaceutical drug company MSD, the fully owned subsidiary of Merck & Co,launched a diarrhoea-prevention vaccine RotaTeq for infants and children in India.

RotaTeq is a pentavalent rotavirus vaccine that helps in preventing rotavirus gastroenteritis, a leading cause of severe and life threatening diarrhoea in young children.
