Indian scientists to lead global study on quakes at Koyna

The project, costing anywhere between Rs.200 crore and Rs.400 crore, will be the first of its kind in the world and is being taken up at the Koyna region in Maharashtra.

As part of the project, a 7-km deep borehole drilling has been planned. Koyna is the best known example of reservoir-triggered earthquakes.



Rajat Gupta steps down as ISB chairman

Indian School of Business (ISB) chairman Rajat Gupta, who faces charges of insider trading in the United States, has decided to step down from his post.

Mr. Gupta asked the ISB executive board to relieve him of the responsibilities as its chairman and managing director emeritus until the matter pending with the Securities and Exchange Commission was resolved.

The national cooperative spice fair will be organised in the last week of April. It will offer unadulterated spices of high quality at reasonable prices.

New Business Head for Ingersoll Rand

Ingersoll Rand has appointed Parminder Singh Sandhu as Business Head and General Manager for security technologies business in India.

According to a release, Mr. Parminder will develop and promote Ingersoll Rand's Security Technologies. Mr. Parminder joins Ingersoll Rand from Shell Lubricants.



IDCO and IL&FS Water signed MOA

IDCO has entered into a memorandum of agreement with IL&FS Water. Under the agreement, IDCO will facilitate IL&FS Water to set up desalination plant in Dhamara and Paradeep Industrial area for supply of industrial and domestic water

Sania-Vesnina win doubles title

Sania Mirza and her Russian partner Elena Vesnina clinched their first title in just their third WTA event as a team, lifting the BNP Paribas Open women's doubles trophy after upstaging Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Meghann Shaughnessy.
