  • LK Advani: Former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister L.K. Advani received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions as a parliamentarian in the Lok Sabha. 

    On the other hand, Janatadal United leader Sharad Yadav received the Lifetime Achievement Award as a Rajya Sabha representative from Vice President Hamid Ansari at a function organised by the Lokmat Media Group to honour distinguished Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members.

  • PV Sindhu: P V Sindhu won the 'Sportsperson of the Year' award during the ‘Maruti Suzuki Sportsperson of the Year’ Charity Gala Awards. Sindhu’s coach P Gopichand received the Coach of the Year award. 

    Young India cricketer K L Rahul made a mark in the last Test series against Australia was awarded Gamechanger of the Year award. 

  • Water Health International: It is a US-based company with operating headquarters in Hyderabad has been awarded the Unilever Global Development Award, for its efforts in providing clean, safe and affordable drinking water to the undeserved and marginalised communities in India, Ghana and Nigeria. 

    The award was presented at the 20th Responsible Business Awards ceremony attended by over 1,200 global business leaders, held at The Royal Albert Hall, London, on July 4. Its an annual event organised by the Business in the Community (BITC), a part of the Prince of Wales’ Responsible Business Network. 

  • Swayam Shikshan Prayog: 
    Swayam Shikshan Prayog, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) awarded the United Nations Development Programme’s Equator Prize. It is the only Indian organization to win the award, making the cut from more than 800 nominations across 120 countries. 

    The 15 prize winners will receive $10,000 each and a chance to participate in a week-long summit in New York during the 72nd United Nations General Assembly. 

  • Guruswamy Jayraman: 
    Guruswamy Jayraman, an Indian-origin Glenwood resident, migrated from Delhi to Australia in 1991. He has been awarded "Order of Australia" for community work, the highest civilian award in Australia. Jayraman has received a number of awards, such as Outstanding Services to Older Citizens Award from the Auburn Council (2011), Service to the Indian Community and Seniors by the India Independence & Australia Day Celebration Committee (2010) and Community Services award from GOPIO Sydney (2012). He was also awarded for his contributions for seniors in Western Sydney by the Minister for Ageing & Disability.
